Artiosccad to ArtiosCAD 6. Outputs Outputs are processes that transform our electronic drawing data into something tangible that you can share with the rest of the world. Output to a Printer This exercise demonstrates how to print out a hard copy of your drawing to a configured printer. Please note that the available Windows Driver depends on what printers you have configured on your system.

Follow zrtioscad steps shown below. Open the file 6A. Check the available artjoscad and they will be added to the Database. If you are practicing at your own site, leave them unchecked. Click on the Main Design layer button. Turn on the Overall Dimensions layer and click OK. The Number of Copies field will be grayed out if the printer driver for your device does not support that feature. The Plot to Printer dialog box will open.

You can change the number of copies needed by clicking on the up and down arrows in the Number of copies field. Notice that you can zoom in and out of the Preview window by using the zoom icons. Click on Cancel to go back to the Output Dialog box.

Click on OK to output to the printer. Outputs – Print Spec Sheet 2 Outputting your design as a report allows you to have a hard copy of information about that workspace. For example, you can plot a specsheet with the name of your design, the date it was created, rule length, etc. You will learn how to make a custom report in another lesson. In this exercise, we will use the existing reports that come with ArtiosCAD.

Click on OK to print the report. Output to Layers A report can be output as an image to a layer of the current design. This allows specification documents to be included with a design that is sent to a user who has the ArtiosCAD Viewer.

The same feature can be used to send an output to a layer for manual adjustments before the final output is generated. Click on the Properties button. Click on the radio button for Workspace Layer and enter Spec for the Layer name. Keep Automatically overwrite checked. Click on OK in the main outputs window. A copy of the spec sheet along with the design will appear in the designer area. Double click a text item to be able to edit traijing information in the text properties dialog box.


You should see the following information.

Click on the Layers button. Exit the layers window. Go to the Design menu and choose Rebuild design. Workspace layers created by an Output can be safely deleted without disabling StyleMaker. Rebuildable designs will still be able to be rebuilt. Output the workspace to a layer again.

Enter the same exact name, spec, for the Layer Name:. Note the changes on the spec layer. Control of Dimension Format The dimension format used in the workspace can be overridden on outputs and on the current view. This allows documents to be generated with a consistent style of dimensioning regardless of how the original design was annotated. This feature also allows dimensions that are not exact fractions to be shown as the nearest fraction instead of using decimal representation.

If prompted, add the Customer, Salesperson and Designer entities. Turn on the dimension layers, if needed. Notice the areas circled above.

We are going to make changes to how this file outputs by using the View Properties in the Output Dialog box. Click on the View tab at the top. In the Dimension Position section, Check Auto-adjust overlapping dimensions.

The dialog box should look like the one below.

Click on Preview and click on the Zoom Rectangle icon. Zoom in on one of the dimensions to verify that the changes have been made. The spec sheet called Line type Legend allows you to view the different rule in artiosdad design along with the length of rule.

Preview the design and spec sheet. You can create custom symbol specsheets and line adtioscad legend specsheets using ReportMaker. Cancel out of this preview and output. Notice the Line Type Legend. Output to a Sample Table Once you have created your design, you can cut a sample on a large range of sample tables. ArtiosCAD can interface with many different types of machines. The following instructions relate to the Kongsberg CM Training for using the table to cut samples is provided by the engineer who installs your sample table at your site.

Create a new corrugated design or open 4B. The following window will appear. The options Make Sample and Make Counter are used with the sample material you are using on the table.


If you are using thin board for folding carton samples, it may be helpful to create a counter from sample material to give you better creases. Use the Slow Plot slider to see how the carton will be creased and cut on the table. Click the double arrows on the left to start it at the beginning.

Click the single arrow on the trainign to advance it one step at a time. Click on Page Layout to view how the design artiooscad be positioned on the table. Click on Cancel to get back to the main outputs window. The following window will open. Click on the Directories tab to display those options.

Notice on this page that you can specify a directory where the file should be saved. Click on other tabs to display the variety of options that can be modified for this output. Click OK to exit the properties window.

ArtiosCAD comes with some example outputs to a variety of Sample cutting devices. Grouped Outputs Whenever you have two or more functions that you consistently perform, it is possible to create one output that is linked to a group of outputs.

It will run artuoscad output within the group thus saving you the time it would take to select and run each one individually.

To demonstrate this, run the following sample grouped output. This is a grouped output of the three other outputs listed on the same sub-menu.

The members of the group do not have to appear with the grouped selection for it to work. Members of a group do have to exist as official outputs. A Confirmation window will be displayed. A message box will appear notifying you of each output.
